We mainly teach through the PADI system [Professional Association of Diving Instructors, so we can offer most of the PADI courses from DSD try dives to Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver,Rescue Diver and Divemaster. We also can offer a selection of Speciallity courses, ie Wreck Diver, Cave Diver , Night Diver,Navigation,Drysuit Diver, Etc Etc.
We also Teach the DDI system [Disable Divers International] where we can teach people with various disabillities, who might prefer this method of learning to Scuba Dive, over other Dive Training systems.
With the DDI method we use adaptive technics to show you how to Scuba Dive and learn the same skills that you would need to master, to become a qualified Open Water Diver
The Discover Scuba Diving program, [DSD].
This is really the best and only way to find out if you would like Scuba Diving. It is also what we recommend to all first timers. DSD's can be done in the sea at Salthill beach weather permitting or at Leisureland Pool Tuesday or Friday nights 8.30pm to 11pm.
Its a two hour program we fill out the medical statement and a the statement of understanding, followed by a short briefing on the do's and donts of Scuba Diving, then its into the water having put on our equipment, We start in the shallow area first and get you relaxed and familiar with all the equipment.
We show you a few simple skills and the at your pace we move of to deeper water. The instructor never moves away from your side so you will be able to relax and enjoy this most addictive experience. This course can be directly credited against the Scuba diver or the Open Water course. Ie, the 60 euro is refunded

PADI Certified Scuba Diver
This is a 2-3 day course which qualifies you to dive to 12 metres anywhere in the world with a dive master or an instructor. This is a good introductory course for those that dont have the time to do the full open water course and can be completed over a weekend. The class size is also restricted to a maximum of four people to ensure each student is gets direct attention.
The course includes 2 pool dives,Â three open water dives around Salthill beach in Galway, and some classroom theory work. There is a test at the end of the course and you are awarded a Certificate from PADI. This course can be directly credited against the Open Water course. Ie, the 300 euro is refunded.

PADI Certified Open Water Course
This course is the most popular entry level course. You also can dive anywhere in the world with this qualification. It takes 5 days to complete over 2-3 weekends within a 2 month period. It consists five confined water dives where you learn different diving skills. It also includes four open water dives. 2 of these dives are boat dives which means you are diving directly from a boat at sea. These excursions are a great way to finish the course as you are getting the real experience of Irish Diving conditions.
The course also includes five classroom sessions and there is an exam at the end of the course. A course crew pack is given to you up receipt of a 250 euro deposit. We recommend you do this a week before the course starts in order to start your home study.These courses are ongoing all year round and all equipment is provided by the Galway Dive School. You will be qualified to dive to 18 metres anywhere in the world.

Advanced Open Water / Adventure Diver
This course is for people who have gained some diving experience who want extend their diving skills and depth range. You will now be qualified to dive to 30 metres with this course. It consists five open water dives around the Galway area starting with a nightdive, followed by search and recovery, peak performance bouyancy, drift dive, deep dive (30 metres). You complete the five knowledge reviews in your course crew pack which is included and will be covered in 1-2 classroom sessions and you be relieved to know there is no exam. Cost â‚¬350
These are generally one day courses consisting of 2 dives and some theory work. Complete any five speciaility dives and you will automatically qualify for the Advanced Open Water Diver.
â‚¬120Â covers each speciality course. You can also become a Master Scuba diver if you complete a number of speciality courses.
This is a really fantastic course for those that have gained confidence from their advanced level of training.It is a challenging course which will test your ability to think in tricky situations,the Rescue Diver course will show you that you are capable of dealing with most diver related emergencies,it has been consistantly vote the most favoured course by those that have gone on to become Divemasters or OWSI instructors.It takes us 4 days to complete,as we like to take our time with the future Rescue Divers.

Emergency First Response
EFR is a one day First Aid course and is a skill that everybody should be have, even if you never have to use it.You will be thought how to preform mouth to mouth resusitation and CPR,how to evaluate a victims injuries be they consious or unconsious.You will even be thought how to use a difibulator.Its a great hands on approach to the most iportant point of first aid.
This is the first step into the relms of a Dive Professional,where you will be able to teach some students for the first time,you will get to be responsible for Divers and Dive Groups.You also get to lead dives and organize dives.You will also get to start earning money for the first time, as a valued assistant at any Dive Centre or Dive School.The Divemaster course is quite a chalenging course where we get rid of all or any bad habits you pickedup along the way,you will fine tune all your Diving skills and increase your knowledge levels, vastly,by the end of the Divemaster course you should be ready to step up to the mark and become a member of the Dive Professional team rewarding you with the respect, you will deserve for getting this far.
DDI Courses (Disable Divers International)
Scuba Diving Experience Program.
Any professional member of the DDI in active status may conduct introduction dives in confined water. All participants receive a safety and basic knowledge briefing. Use will be made of normal scuba gear appropriate for the circumstances. No certification will be issued after an introduction dive.
Open water Scuba Diving Experience introduction dives may only be performed under the supervision of an DDI Open Water Instructor or PRO-Trainer. Cost â‚¬60
Sport Diver Course
The DDI Sport Diver course provides candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills required to dive safely in an open water environment under direct supervision of a Dive Leader or scuba instructor.
DDI Sport Divers are qualified to dive within the following parameters:
â€¢ dive to a recommended maximum depth of 12 m,
â€¢ dive in groups of up to four level 1 scuba divers per dive leader,
â€¢ make dives which do not require in-water decompression stops,
â€¢ dive only when appropriate support is available at the surface,
â€¢ dive under conditions that are equal or better than the conditions where they were trained.
NOTE If accompanied by a scuba instructor, an IAHD sport diver may gain progressive experience beyond these parameters and develop competency in managing more challenging diving
designed to lead to higher qualifications. Where further instruction is required this can only be provided by a suitably qualified scuba instructor. Where only further experience is required, this may be supervised by a dive leader
Open Water Level 1
It is like any other training courses for Open Water qualification, except it is adapted to the individuals capabilities,you are expected to complete the various dive skills attached to the confined water dives and the openwater dives,once completed you wil be qualified to dive with any other diver with any Open Water qualification. Cost â‚¬600 or â‚¬540 if you have done the Try Dive with us.

The IAHD Advanced Open Water diver provides a novice diver with a structured, well-supervised means of gaining additional diving experience. By participating in various tasks the novice divers gains a broader awareness of the underwater environment, thus improving the individual's diving capabilities. To become certified as an DDI Advanced Open Water Diver, the individual must complete a minimum of five elective dives. Based upon the individuals ability to complete the exercises required for each of the dives will determine the added safety measures that will be stated on his or her certification card.

The DDI Dive Partner course is designed to train certified divers in how to accompany disabled divers. It is recommended that trained Dive Partnersâ€™ who are friends, relatives, etc., follow the training course of the disabled individual, whom they later plan to dive with. CostÂ â‚¬100
Surface Support Specialist Program
â€¢ Be at least 16 years of age (by starting date of the course).
â€¢ Be an experienced swimmer
Individuals who fulfil the pre-requisites for attending the DDI Surface Support Specialist program and satisfactorily complete the academic and practical training requirements may be certified. Certification is obtained by submitting a completed Surface Support Specialist Authorisation form and photo.
